The History of the Byrne/Perry Summer School.Founded in 1995, the Byrne/Perry Summer School was the first Summer School in the southeast. The school is named after two local figureheads of the 1798 rebellion, Miles Byrne, a key figure in the Rebellion who went on to become a General in the French army and Anthony Perry, a founder member of the United Irishmen in Wexford, who was executed in Edenderry in 1798; one a Catholic, the other a Protestant. Dates of Summer School The Byrne/Perry Summer School is held on the last weekend of June from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
